Sometimes you may want a question to come up only if the participant answers a certain answer to another question. In the example below, we want to ask our participants if they want an overnight stay, and if they answer YES, we want them to be asked a follow-up question about how they want to stay. "How do you want to stay?" is called a follow-up question, and you set one up in five simple steps:
- First, create your main question, such as "Overnight stay?". We recommend that this is a DROPDOWN which allows the user to choose between different answers. "Yes" or "No" in this example.
- Then create your follow-up question. (Follow-up question to this example: "How do you want to stay?")
- Press Advanced settings on your follow-up question.
- Then scroll in the list next to If, where you then select your main question, "Accommodation?". Then next to Value, select "Yes". This means that your follow-up question will only appear if the participant answers "Yes" to your main question if accommodation is desired. You can also similarly choose to hide a question, by pressing Hide instead of Show
- Then press Update.
If you want to preview what the questions looks like for the participants, you can press Preview, or send a test invitation to yourself. You can read more about this under preview an invitation.
